MARC/RISE - The Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) program is designed to provide training for students to apply for admission into Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. Contact Dr. Leslee Parr for more information. The Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) seeks to increase the capacity of students underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences to complete Ph.D. degrees in these fields. RUMBA - The REU program at San Jose State University, called Research by Undergraduates using Molecular Biology Applications (RUMBA), will engage ten undergraduate students each summer in a ten-week research program focused on molecular biology applications. Faculty members with expertise in the areas of genetics, molecular evolution, molecular environmental microbiology, neuroscience, cell and molecular developmental biology, and forensics will mentor students.
